Here at Push Pedal Pull, we understand that sometimes it can be a challenge to hop on your treadmill, elliptical or other type of exercise equipment and give it all you’ve got. On some days, it may feel that all you have left is enough energy to plop down on the couch and mindlessly click through channels. We get it. But we also know that every minute you put into fitness is an investment for your future health and happiness. With that in mind, today we’re sharing inspiring stories to help you get ready to move.

Choose Health

While taking his father to a cancer treatment facility, Sean Harrison began to view health, and a person’s control over his or her health, in a new light. Men’s Fitness shares the story of how Harrison transformed from someone who struggled to tie his shoes to a buff athlete, pursuing a fitter future.

Take-away: Feeling discouraged about your weight? Consider this your first chapter and write your story of healthy living starting now.

Work From Your Heart

Prepare to be amazed at this story from the vault. In 2009, CNN told the story of Lan Yin Tsai, an intrepid 84-year-old woman who, for 26 years, biked the New Jersey's City to Shore -- a 150-mile bike ride to benefit multiple sclerosis research. And she did it in heels and a dress on an old-fashioned one-speed bike to boot.

This video shows Lan Yin Tsai and her family talking about the ride:

Take-away: What are you passionate about? Let your heart, intentions and love for others drive you through workouts. Run an extra lap for someone you care about. Think of someone who is going through something and push yourself to do an extra rep for them. Consider pairing charity and fitness by finding an event in your area to participate in.

Believe You Are Capable

“Just because I can’t do it today, doesn’t mean I can’t do it someday.” Arthur Boorman’s story of transformation inspired so many people, his video on YouTube went viral. Boorman, a former paratrooper was battling health issues and was reliant on a cane and braces to walk. Desperate to regain his life, he began doing yoga, even though he had been turned away by several yoga teachers. His determination to change his health forever changed his life. Watch his unbelievable journey:

Take-away: Achieving fitness goals takes time and discipline. Don’t get down on yourself because you’re not there yet. Today’s struggles become tomorrow’s success.
