Sometimes, hybrid products just fail to impress. The spork. Two-in-one shampoo. The umbrella hat. Then, there comes a combination product that reminds you that two can be way better than one.
One such product is the ElliptiGO, the world’s first elliptical bike.
The ElliptiGO frees elliptical-loving fitness buffs from the confines of an exercise room and allows them to hit the open road. This machine allows you to simulate a running motion while cruising as if on a bike.
The product has won many fans, some of which are our own Push Pedal Pull employees. Brandon Lohr, Assistant Manager at the Tulsa branch shared his thoughts about the product.
“I’ve exercised my whole life. I played football in high school and then at the University of Tulsa. I’ve exercised on pretty much everything out there and I’ve lost 80 pounds on an elliptical. But I have a hard time getting my heart rate up. In truly reaching your fitness goals, getting your heart rate is the most important thing. So, the quicker you can get your heart rate up, the faster you’re going to get results.
I can truly get my heart rate up on the ElliptiGO faster than anything other piece out there on the market. I also enjoy that there’s no added stress on my knees or back, like there can be with running.”
Does a fun spin on an ElliptiGO through your neighborhood not sound extreme enough for your fitness needs? No worries, ElliptiGO 11R has your back. The new 11 speed version was designed specifically for racing and high-endurance events. Available in November 2011, this version will be lighter and have an additional lower gear, perfect for tackling steep hills. According to the company, this ElliptiGO has serious off-roading credibility.
“ElliptiGO riders have completed some of the toughest cycling events in the country, such as the Death Ride, the Hell’s Gate Hundred, and the ascents of Mt. Washington and Mt. Evans,” said Bryan Pate, co-founder and co-president, ElliptiGO. “We created the 11R to enable endurance athletes to continue to push the limits of elliptical biking.”
